Harriman to Host International Workshop on Lysenkoism

The International Workshop on Lysenkoism, co-sponsored by the Harriman Institute and the City University of New York, will take place December 4-5, 2009. Trofim D. Lysenko, a Ukrainian agronomist, was responsible for banning genetics in the Soviet Union and its allies, following a week-long session of the Lenin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1948.
