A Dialogue on Literature and Dissidence: Vladimir Voinovich and Catharine Nepomnyashchy
Politics and Literature. The two realms are often intertwined, and during periods of both stability and upheaval, they consistently inform one another. But as Vladimir Voinovich made clear in his lecture, creating literature in the Soviet Union did not mean that politics informed your art—it weighed down upon it and imposed itself with brutal force.
