Pussy Riot Trial
On August 17, 2012, the members of feminist punk band Pussy Riot were sentenced to two years in prison. Maria Alyokhina, Yekaterina Samutsevich, and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova were arrested on March 3rd on charges of hooliganism incited by "anti-religious hatred" following a very brief performance at Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
