This is our last goodbye

Fanzo, Jessica C.

After four years of serving as the Editor in Chief of the Global Food Security (GFS), I am stepping down. It has been a pleasure to serve in this role for such a unique journal. I tried to keep the original vision of GFS relatively intact: helping distill the evidence and vast information available on food security and food systems for our readers. There are many peer-reviewed, scholarly journals publishing original bodies of primary research; however, very few focus on the “curation” of what is out there by disseminating strategic reviews and synthesis articles, opinion and perspective pieces, and debates. The GFS synthesizes, extends, and critiques research approaches and findings from the rapidly growing body of original publications on global food security, nutrition, and food systems, guided by selected scientists, development practitioners, and policymakers. With the five other editors of the GFS, we also tried to grow the journal in four ways.
