Mexico City’s Rainwater Harvesting Program (Cosecha de Lluvia)
Mexico City’s Rainwater Harvesting Program has successfully reduced water scarcity in marginalized neighborhoods, improved welfare for beneficiary households, avoided GHG emissions related to the provision of water thru centralized systems, and reduced water runoffs in urban settings which supports urban adaptation. The Program has a greater potential to be successfully replicated elsewhere when taking into consideration the main lessons learned by Mexico City government.
