With the 2014 Winter Olympics fast approaching, street protests in Ukraine heating up, and Europe marking the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, there is much brewing at the Harriman Institute. Thanks to Kim Marten for organizing a series called, "The Sochi Olympics and Sport in Russia," which covered topics ranging from transnational LGBT activism (co-organized with Alex Cooley), to contemporary Russian politics and the role of athletes in the Olympics.
