Postdoctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars 2010-2011
Emma Lieber received her Ph.D. in Russian Literature from Columbia University in 2011. Her dissertation, which takes as its starting point Leo Tolstoy’s famous contention that the works of the Russian literary canon represent “deviation[s] from European forms,” addresses the question of what is distinctive, or “deviant,” about the Russian novel.
