International Copyright Considerations

This chapter summarizes the international considerations about how to assess risk in providing remote access to materials in distinctive collections found in cultural heritage institutions, such as libraries, archives and museums. Issues examined include, what constitutes a foreign work, how to treat foreign created materials and how to assess copyright status applying the principles of national treatment.
