A finite element model of pregnancy derived from maternal sonography: effect of uterine and cervical structural properties on cervical mechanical loading (code for proximal cervix stretch analysis)
This file contains code and data files to calculate stretch in the proximal cervix used in a sensitivity study of cervical deformation with varying maternal geometry and material properties. Right stretch in the original Cartesian coordinate system at all proximal cervix nodes were exported from FEBio simulations of applied intrauterine pressure. The initial Cartesian coordinates for the proximal cervix nodes and the coordinates of the internal and external os were also found in FEBio. The code calculates the local cylindrical stretch at each node, and can also visualize spatial differences in stretch between two models.
The folder contains MATLAB (.m) files to calculate the proximal cervix stretch and files of stretch at each proximal cervix face node exported from FEBio for two model geometries. A README file with further explanation of the contained information is also provided. The manuscript can be referenced for further explanation of the calculations performed by the stretch code.
