Ksenia Sobchak at Harriman

Ksenia Sobchak, the main independent opposition candidate registered for the 2018 presidential elections in Russia, described herself as an “unusual candidate” to a packed auditorium at Columbia University on February 8, 2018. Sobchak is the daughter of President Putin’s late political mentor, Anatoly Sobchak. A well-known socialite and former reality TV show host, Sobchak joined the Russian opposition movement during the 2011-12 protests.
