Celebrating the Ballets Russes: The Golden Cockerel

Hanson, Hilary

“Celebrating the Ballets Russes in Music, Art, and Puppetry: The Golden Cockerel,” was one of the many events the Harriman Institute sponsored this spring to mark the centenary of the first Paris performances of Serge Diaghilev’s legendary Ballets Russes. The production was conceived by Amy Trompetter, Barnard Research Scholar in Theatre, with Catharine Theimer Nepomnyashchy, Professor of Russian at Barnard College and Director of the Harriman Institute, and Lynn Garafola, Professor of Dance at Barnard College.
