Raymond Berengar I

Translated letter:

I, Bernard William, and Ademar and Borrell, son of the late woman Stephania, swear to you, lord Raymond, count of Barcelona, and lady Almodis, countess, and your son Raymond Berengar, my lords, that from this hour forward I shall be faithful to you on your life and all the members that are held in your bodies.  And I shall be an aid to hold and have and defend and fight for all that you now have and may acquire from now on, God granting, against all men or women who might take or wish to take all the aforesaid from you and anything from all the aforesaid.  And I shall give you power without deception over that town of Conchas within 30 days that you, said count and countess, or one of you, should ask me for the power over said town; and I shall entrust that to you in the manner that you the aforesaid or one of you ask this of me.  As is written above, so I shall hold and keep this, I said Bernard and Ademar and Borrell, to you, my said lords, by righteous faith without deception, unless you or one of you release me from this by your gracious will, healthy mind and without force.  By God and these holy things.
