Securing the neighborhood: China’s evolving security footprint in Central Asia

The article identifies Chinese security priorities– including securing BRI investments and stabilizing Xinjiang–focuses on China's adoption of surveillance technologies, the growth of Chinese private security companies, and the establishment of Chinese security facilities and joint border posts in Tajikistan.
