Transliterations and mapping of LCAAJ fieldnotes (SEYD project)
This repository contains transliterations and mappings of the Language and Culture Archive of Ashkenazic Jewry (LCAAJ; 1959–1972) field notes made in the course of the project Syntax of Eastern Yiddish Dialects (SEYD; 2017–2022) based on the Columbia Libraries' digitized materials (https://dlc.library.columbia.edu/lcaaj).
General structure:
⁃ SEYD-list.csv provides an overview of the transliterated LCAAJ questions.
- A compilation of the maps and a brief description of the procedure and of how the data is organized can be found in the file SEYD-indexfile (Available in different formats).
- On https://schaeferlea.github.io/SEYD-WEBMAPS/ is a simple browser based map viewer.
- The zipped folder "data" contains the individual data sets (transliterations, maps, layer, etc.).
