Understand Research Data
This module in the “From Books to Bytes” series defines research data and helps you to find, utilize, and manage research data ethically. This video defines research data, unpacks some common misconceptions about them, and also explores different types of research data. After watching this video, you will be able to define research data and introduce the different types of research data: numeric, spatial, and textual. Handouts cover F.A.I.R. Data Principles, go deeper into data management, and introduce the concept of an Institutional Review Board (IRB).
