“Der Schmied (“The Smith”): A German Madrigal”

“Der Schmied (“The Smith”): A German Madrigal” is a song composed by A. Elia, based on the poem by Ludwig Uhland (1787-1862) and is in this set of "Fünf neue deutsche lieder." ~~ “Five New German Songs for Male Chorus” is a collection of choral works written for the Indianapolis Liederkranz in April 2014. The composer has utilized the poetry of German language writers, some humorous, some serious, and set them to music. German musical societies, Sängerchor, Männerchor, and other singing groups are encouraged to perform these new works.
