Review of The Grammar of Faith

West, Cornel

Paul Holmer's new book, The Grammar of Faith, is best understood against a scenario of the present theological scene. His viewpoint represents a nascent and emerging Wittgensteinian-Kierkegaardian paradigm, which links radical efforts to overcome academic philosophy and theology with attempts to lay bare the structure, content and vitality of the life and language of the faithful.
