Experiences with Implementation of Digital Object Identifiers

Downs, Robert R.

The assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for scientific data can contribute to the discovery of scientific data and to the citation of data used for published scientific studies. The planning, development, and implementation of DOIs are described along with their inclusion in the recommended citation displayed on each dataset landing page at SEDAC, the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center.
