What Is Progress?

Stiglitz, Joseph E.

The article focuses on the findings of the Stiglitz Commission on the Measurement of Economic Performance and Social Progress chaired by Nobel-prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz in the U.S. The Stiglitz report found that human wellbeing is far more than the sum of economic resources and also depends on various factors such as health, education, and environment. It also suggested that the activities and experiences of households should be considered instead of measuring the performance of national economies.
