“The Ambient Chorales” (10 impressionistic works for solo chorus, inspired by the contemporary soundscapes composed by ambient composers ISHQ. Each of the Ambient Chorales is rooted in a land-, sea-, space-, or dreamscape.) Performers may wish to change their individual sound to either “oh” or “ah,” though in the first ambient chorale (“Atmospheres”), these sounds are meant to vary between the open (“ah”) and more closed (“oh”) sounds. Tempi and dynamics are open to interpretation by performers, though most in this set will last from 4-8 minutes, generally.
