Revelations from the Apparatus Criticus of the Book of Revelation: How Textual Criticism Can Help Historians

Elliott, J. K.

As a former colleague of John McGuckin in the University of Leeds, I have followed the various installments (to use the spelling from John’s old sod) of his impressively varied career to date, not least his installation (again, to prefer British usage) to a named chair. It is with great pleasure that I submit the following article on the textual variants in the Book of Revelation in his honor (and here I allow US spelling), knowing of his interest in New Testament Greek manuscripts and their influence on early Christianity.
