2010 Music

Sonata #1 for 'Cello and Piano

This work was written in the first half of 2010 in Chicago, IL. It was written for Israeli 'cellist Racheli Galay, who was the first and only person (at the time of writing this) to read through the work. I offer this piece for the public to play and perform. There are two specific comments regarding notation that should be made: 1) due to an problem in the notation software I used to write this, between measures 34 and 35 there is a rogue empty measure, which can be ignored; and 2) having read through the work with a professional 'cellist, we discovered some inconvenient double stops. As I am aware of some of these problems, I am amenable to those performers, who wish to amend their instrument line, within reason (especially the 'cello), to create the optimal musical performance.
