Introductory Chorus (Corn Mother Opera)

The "Corn Mother Opera" is a short chamber opera, conceived primarily by Vita and Ishmael Wallace. The work is based on an old Lenape tale, and created by a group of musicians, writers, and composers on the Upper West Side of Manhattan on the afternoon of April 14th. In the period of ~3 hours, this group got together and co-wrote what would become a 40 minute opera, which was produced the next day on April 15th, on 113th Street at 9PM. Anthony Elia was the composer of three parts (Overture, Introduction with Chorus, and Return of the Corn Mother), while Ishmael Wallace was also a composer. There were several other individuals involved, including opera director Anna Etsuko Tsuri, who directed the opera.
