From Hebrew and Gardens to Oranges and Lemons: Giovanni Battista Ferrari and Cassiano dal Pozzo

Freedberg, David A.

Some of the most vivid recollections of Cassiano dal Pozzo are preserved in the works and correspondence of Giovanni Battista Ferrari. The writings, both published and unpublished, of the almost forgotten Jesuit Father (1582-1655) provide a more than usually affectionate account of the scholarly intimacies shared amongst those who frequented the library and collection of the house on the Via Dei Chivari.
