Though interest in Vaughan Williams's music was certainly at low ebb in the quarter century between the early 1960s and mid-1980s, the last decade has shown signs of a notable increase. The writer who shows the surest grasp of relevant new sources is, not surprisingly, editor Alain Frogley. Macan offers a critique on Frogley and even Cambridge University Press.
