Korea's Tax System: A Growth-Oriented Choice

Jun, Joosung

Korea's tax system does not much resemble those found in developed countries. The tax bases are narrow and the overall tax burden is relatively low. Tax revenue as a fraction of GDP has increased steadily over the past decades, but at around 20 percent it is still among the lowest in the OECD.
