Building Student Momentum From High School Into College

Barnett, Elisabeth

This Jobs for the Future report is part of a series intended to encourage our nation’s secondary and postsecondary systems to take joint responsibility for substantially increasing the number of young people who are prepared for college and career success. In this report, the author proposes research-based markers and milestones of student momentum from twelfth grade through the first year of college. The report describes the key experiences and accomplishments identified by these markers and suggests ways that local high school and college partners can collaborate to support their attainment.
