A scientific treatment of morality

Lund, Bertha T.

That there is something seriously wrong with the systems of ethics by which most men and nations presumably guide their conduct today has been realized, more or less vaguely, by a growing section of our population for some years. In every community in our country this feeling is expressed in the actions of those who while they profess a belief in the ethical ideals of their forefathers, tacitly govern their lives by wholly different codes. The transition is troubling another considerable section who have broken loose from the principles they call unsuitable for their era, but who have not yet found a new philosophy whereby to steady their conduct and to justify their discarding of former standards.
