Spatially Mapping the Mechanical and Structural Properties of the Seedling Uterine Fibroid-Myometrium Interface: Supplementary Data
This supplementary dataset accompanies the following preprint: Fodera et al., Spatially Mapping the Mechanical and Structural Properties of the Seedling Uterine Fibroid-Myometrium Interface (bioRxiv, 2025; doi:10.1101/2025.11.14.687752). The dataset contains experimental mechanical measurements and image-derived analyses used to characterize the mechanical and structural heterogeneity of the uterine fibroid-myometrium interface.
This dataset includes two files: (1) .xlsx spreadsheet containing patient and specimen metadata, microindentation-based mechanical testing measurements, interface classification metrics, histological image quantification, and second harmonic generation imaging-derived measurements; and (2) .pdf file containing compiled microindentation data for all individual samples evaluated, displayed as spatial heat maps, x-position plots, and boxplots with matched brightfield images.
Further details can be found in the “READ ME” tab of the accompanying .xlsx file. This dataset is provided to facilitate transparency, reproducibility, hypothesis generation, and future secondary analyses in uterine biomechanics and mechanobiology research.
Keywords: biomechanics, uterus, uterine fibroids, microindentation testing, material properties, time-dependency, extracellular matrix, second harmonic generation imaging, histology quantification
