The Factory and the Beehive. V. Comparing Chromospheric and Coronal Activity Indicators in Praesepe and the Hyades

This is a repository of long-slit spectra for a sample of stars in the open clusters Hyades and Praesepe. Most of the spectra were taken with the MDM Observatory 2.4-m Hiltner telescope on Kitt Peak, AZ. We used the Modular Spectrograph (ModSpec) and the Ohio State Multi-Object Spectrograph (OSMOS); the latter paired with either the blue 4K detector or the red 4K detector. Some spectra for Praesepe stars were taken with the multiobject spectrograph Hectospec on the MMT 6.5-m telescope on Mt. Hopkins, AZ, or with the multiobject spectrograph Hydra on the WIYN 3.5-m telescope on Kitt Peak, AZ.

We also include in this repository output figures from the tool PHEW, which measures the equivalent width (EW) of a spectral line. The figures show the H-alpha EW measurements we performed on the MDM, MMT, and WIYN spectra in this repository, as well as on some spectra from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey archive, from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) catalog, and archival spectra from other published works on Praesepe and Hyades stars. We used the H-alpha EW data in our study of chromospheric activity in Praesepe and Hyades stars.
