AI Cloud Architecture Using PaaS (Platform as a Service)

Lamria, Glory

This report examines the role of Platform as a Service (PaaS) in enabling scalable and efficient cloud-based applications within modern digital ecosystems. Drawing on industry experience in e-commerce and civic technology, the study analyzes a layered cloud architecture consisting of infrastructure (IaaS) and platform (PaaS) components. The infrastructure layer provides foundational resources such as virtual machines, storage, and networking, while the platform layer offers managed services including application hosting, databases, APIs, and monitoring tools. The paper highlights how PaaS abstracts system complexity, accelerates development cycles, and supports seamless integration across cloud environments. Through real-world examples, the analysis demonstrates how PaaS enables rapid deployment, cost efficiency, and high scalability while maintaining system reliability and security. The findings position PaaS as a critical enabler of modern IT infrastructure, bridging technical capabilities with practical business and civic applications.
