Interpersonal Psychotherapy Methods in Brief

Mootz, Jennifer J.; Yangchen, Tenzin; Weissman, Myrna M.

Abstract Interpersonal Psychotherapy: A Global Reach outlines the rapidly expanding global dissemination of interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). IPT refers to the evidence-based toolbox method to repair human fractures to attachment, such as different cultures and severance through death, disputes, and life changes that result in distress. The implementation of IPT with diverse communities globally includes descriptions of work with African American girls, Indigenous people, and many others. Interpersonal Psychotherapy also provides practical guidance and experiences by referencing the work of experts from 31 different countries across the world. It then details the development of new training, technologies, and the use of IPT in diverse populations.
