Exploring Latin American and Latinx Knowledge to Foster Student Agency: A professional development guide
This professional development guide aims to provide educators and communities with context and teaching strategies to support Latin American, Caribbean and Latinx students in having an equitable and inclusive education experience in which their cultures and languages are leveraged as assets in their classrooms and in their communities. The lessons and resources included in this guide mainly support Reading and Language Arts teachers, but they are flexible enough to foster student agency in cooperation with educators from other areas as students explore their individual and collective identities as Latin American, Caribbean and Latinx people and ultimately take action to continue shaping their lives and communities.
