IFPRI’s 2020 conference on leveraging agriculture for improving nutrition and health: keeping the momentum and translating ideas into action

Fanzo, Jessica C.

This past February, experts from various development sectors including food security, agriculture, health and nutrition, met in New Delhi, India to discuss how to Leverage Agriculture for Improving Nutrition and Health. The conference was hosted by the International Food and Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), an organization that is part of the Consultative Group for International Agriculture Research (CGIAR). The main objective of the conference was to bring the three sectors of agriculture, health and nutrition together to understand clearly how agriculture—as a food supplier, income generator, and provider of growth—could sustainably reduce malnutrition and poor health for the world’s most vulnerable (IFPRI 2010).
