Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in Sintra, Portugal
Sintra, Portugal, is addressing climate change through integrated adaptation and mitigation strategies that respond to rising temperatures, increased heat waves, and growing wildfire risks. This case study examines the municipality’s Strategic Plan for Climate Change (PECSAC), which identifies vulnerabilities and proposes actions across sectors such as water resources, forests, biodiversity, tourism, and human health.
