2008 May 28: Columbia University Libraries has replaced the older Digital Commons repository with the new Academic Commons. Academic Commons is based on the open source DSpace software, which will serve as a more flexible platform to grow and develop Columbia's institutional repository.
Beginning in fall 2008, Columbia University Libraries' Center for Digital Research and Scholarship (CDRS) will begin accepting proposals from academic departments and other campus groups wishing to submit their Columbia-based content (including articles and monographs, working papers, preprints, technical reports, conference papers, datasets, multimedia creations, and other materials in various digital formats) for deposit in Academic Commons.
