Abstract:
This issue brief will focus on minority religions for which the American welfare system is especially pertinent. Specifically, this brief will focus on Muslim-Americans (Americans who practice Islam) and on Amish-Americans (Americans who practice the specialized Protestant Christian religion who are known as "the Amish"). The fact that there exists very limited social welfare for Muslims in America despite their need for such programs, and the disassociation of the Amish from the American welfare system are the focuses of this brief.
