- As a Millennium City, Blantyre, Malawi, is the site of new needs assessments, interventions and planned investments aimed at helping the city achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Education has been identified as a critical component of poverty alleviation and socioeconomic development.This needs assessment finds that with an annual per capita investment of $22 between 2010 and 2015, Blantyre City can achieve the Millennium Development Goals in education.
